Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Empire Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Good location. Staff were helpful
I reserved a room for 3 people. It was a very small room with only one bed. No running cold water only hot which made it impossible to take a shower

Not being able to take a shower would make this a totally unacceptable option for future visits

Accommodating staff, outstanding lobby and a luxury room with ultra-comfortable bedding and high-end toiletries make the hotel a standout! I will return.

My stay at the Empire Hotel was perfect in every way. Every amenity I used, every staff person I met, every aspect of my room was excellent. The friendly, accommodating staff and outstanding lobby, coupled with a luxury room with ultra-comfortable bedding and high-end toiletries, made my stay enjoyable. The Empire Hotel has an excellent, unique vibe that makes it stand out from the rest I have stayed in during my many NYC visits. When I am in Manhattan next, I will return. ...read more

The location cannot be beat and the front desk staff was extremely nice and accommodating.
The rooms are very small and the sink in the bathroom is almost not accessible due to the fact that it was squeezed into such a small space.

The hotel was situated perfectly to Columbus Circle, Central Park, Lincoln Center and Public Transportation. The rooms were clean and it was a nice touch to walk into the room with a view of the Lincoln Center on our television.
While we loved the style of the shower, the small divider wasn't enough to keep the water from spilling all over the floor. There were also too few outlets for charging. The rooftop bar seemed more a bouncer-clad club than a place for guests to enjoy.

Be careful booking rooms on Priceline, extra fees are added and you end up paying the same price as if you would have booked directly with the hotel. As a result you end up paying more for a lower value room.

Location was great - very near Lincoln Center, and close to Columbus Circle, Central Park, and the subway.
Hot water was spotty. The last morning, we slept until 9am, and by that time, the hot water was gone. Also, there were some noise issues from other rooms. The doors slam easily, so if not careful late night guests can wake neighbors.

Clean, small room with tiny, but nice bathroom. Great soaps and shampoos, and nice staff. The tiny water bottles by the bed are $7 if you drink one. The elevators are slow to arrive. The rooftop lounge seems quite popular, but when we went up, there was very loud music and an ugly space. Maybe that works for the younger crowd. All in all, it's an OK hotel in a great location. If we were sure that the hot water would work, we would come back. ...read more

location
Smoking. Half a shower door so water splashes out into tiny bathroom, Windows that leaked sound/air/dirt into the room. AC unit that made loud noise but did drown out most of the street noise. Dirty, cracked paint, mold in grout. stains

I would never book this hotel again or tell a friend to stay here.

The location!

The room was very clean, and spacious! The location is key and the roof top bar is so fun!

Great location, nice decor in rooms and public spaces.
Couldn't adjust room temperature. Could use a portable luggage stand in the room.

Rooms were a little small but that's NYC. Aside from that they were great.
