Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Empire Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location was great - very near Lincoln Center, and close to Columbus Circle, Central Park, and the subway.
Hot water was spotty. The last morning, we slept until 9am, and by that time, the hot water was gone. Also, there were some noise issues from other rooms. The doors slam easily, so if not careful late night guests can wake neighbors.

Clean, small room with tiny, but nice bathroom. Great soaps and shampoos, and nice staff. The tiny water bottles by the bed are $7 if you drink one. The elevators are slow to arrive. The rooftop lounge seems quite popular, but when we went up, there was very loud music and an ugly space. Maybe that works for the younger crowd. All in all, it's an OK hotel in a great location. If we were sure that the hot water would work, we would come back. ...read more

Smoking. Half a shower door so water splashes out into tiny bathroom, Windows that leaked sound/air/dirt into the room. AC unit that made loud noise but did drown out most of the street noise. Dirty, cracked paint, mold in grout. stains

I would never book this hotel again or tell a friend to stay here.

The location!

The room was very clean, and spacious! The location is key and the roof top bar is so fun!

Great location, nice decor in rooms and public spaces.
Couldn't adjust room temperature. Could use a portable luggage stand in the room.

Rooms were a little small but that's NYC. Aside from that they were great.

Excellent location and great dining recommendation from Chris the concierge.
The shower had no door on it so bathroom got wet with each shower.

Hotel was in a great location, was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Chris the concierge. I would stay there again.

Smallest room we've ever stayed in. Bathroom barely fits one person. Shower drain blocked. No towels delivered one of the days.

Hotel personnel was great. Foyer is inviting. The room was the problem. The room felt like a closet that had been remodeled into a room special for Priceline. The room was bright and clean, so no problem there. The drain for the shower was clogged, but they did change our room...to the same room, right above our original room. It too was clean. I do not think we'll use Priceline again, thinking that they get all the somewhat inferior rooms to sell. ...read more

Good location
Over priced. Bathroom was so small that you could not stand facing the sink, had to stand at an angle. Zero amenities provided. No coffee in room nor lobby. Charge for WiFi. Toothbrush and little container of toothpaste for sale for $17.

Not sure who would ever rate this a four star hotel. This hotel was not worth the money. The bathroom was so small you can not stand at the sink. Zero amenities provided. Toothpaste and toothbrush for sale for $17. No coffee in room or available in lobby. Overnight parking $60.00. Charge for Internet access. Mini bottled water for $7 in room.

Nothing

I can't review it because we had a family emergency and couldn't attend. Even though I have been a loyal priceline customer for many years there was nothing that could be done in terms of cancelling the room or receiving a credit. The only thing I was given was a $10 certificate which is an insult. I certainly won't be using the certificate as I will never use priceline again. You have lost a once-loyal customer. ...read more
