The Fairmont San Jose

If staying in San Jose, The Fairmont is where to stay. Centrally located, you don't even need a car. Great dining options in and just outside the doors of the hotel. Wonderful museums, shopping and San Jose State University within a few blocks. The Fairmont will definitely be our choice hotel for our future visits to San Jose.

Be prepared to pay for EVERYTHING you would normally expect to be included...like parking, wifi, water.

This hotel is 3 miles from san jose airport. No shuttle, but the staff was very helpful in getting us a cab at 6am. The hotel is definately 4 star quality.

Fairmont is my "go to" hotel in San Jose. Always as I expect it to be.

it was a good hotel. first time staying in this hotel, but my expectations of the cleanliness were too high i believe. there were a lot of ring marks of cups on the marble counter tops, which i thought was cause they didn't wipe it down, but it was because people don't know that if it sits long enough, it will ruin the marble. the toilet is really... how do you say, awkward, for a really nice hotel like this one. it was one of those toilet seats you see at a gas station where you have to use your foot to flush. not that hot. sorry. it can't be helped if some staff judge you for what you're wearing, and then treat you all fine and dandy when you dress up nice, it would be nice to have it even at least, but you can't really control stuff like that. overall, i'd give this place a 8.3 rating. ...read more

In addition to being a pricey hotel and having so many restrictions, the public areas were so dirty. On Sunday morning there were beer bottles upside down in the hallway spilling all over, bottle caps and broken bottles in corners of hallways and elevator-ways. The swimming pool had dried throw up on the cement, ladies' underwear, and many, MANY empty bottles/cans of beer and cigarette buds lying around until about 11am on Sunday morning. On top of that... we HAD to do valet parking, another expensive charge around $30, and we are told that it takes 20 minutes for them to go retrieve your car upon check out. It took 50 MINUTES for us to get our car, which greatly impacted our plans for the next day and was extremely infuriating. I was very disappointed that I did not choose to stay at my mom's house about 10 miles away, for free, instead of paying a high price for a hotel that did not feel clean, taken care of, and that greatly inconvenienced us upon checkout. ...read more

This hotel is very nice and the location is a plus. There are a lot of restaurants and local attractions within walking distance. Freeway access is also very good.

The hotel is situated in a prime location. The hotel had great accommodations and the customer service was exemplary. Thank you!
