Staff were pleasant, but training seemed lacking
Room was not at all up to par......smelled musty, needed paint touch up....couch was stained. It was not clear when I booked that access to my room would be "around the corner and down the street". Honestly felt like I was housed in a mediocre motel

A Grande Disappointment. Very self congratulatory in all it's materials and general attititude of staff, but the basics are just not there....bedroom window was dirty...and on and on....can't say I would take another chance on any room in the hotel given my experience. Having lived in La Jolla, and having a particular preference for historic hotels, I felt it a great shame to see this grande dame slipping into decline. ...read more

It is old.

Our car was vandalized, window broken and apple computer was stolen. The car was parked (Valet) in a supposed secure parking area of the hotel.

Just a first class hotel all the way around!
Nothing to complain about here.

From the greeting of the valet boys who open and close the door for you to the wonderful meal at the Nine Ten dinner,
everything was done with class. Beds were very comfortable. I really enjoyed the hotels own granola bowl for breakfast. I highly recommend it and the hotel for future guests.
