Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Heathman Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location, comfortable beds.
There was a fire alarm @ 330am that took quite some time to resolve. The staff didn't seem very equipped to handle this. They were obviously frazzled & not able to assist guests appropriately. Since it's not allowed below - the rooms are overpriced!

Excellent location. Heart of downtown. Small rooms, but very comfortable and tastefully designed. Concierge, receptionists, and bellhops were very professional. Breakfast wait staff was attentive and friendly.
Corridors on floors are very dim. Hard to see the key slot on the door. The late-evening bartender and servers in the bar area were brusque. The night receptionist in the lobby seemed put out when I asked him to call a cab at 11:00 PM.

This is one of Portland's classic hotels, with modern appointments. The location is fabulous if you are doing things in the city. A huge number of attractions are within walking distance. The area feels very safe, even later at night. The hotel is well maintained. Rooms are small, but well-appointed and very clean. The hallway lights are too dim--I could barely see the key slot on my door. Daytime staff is excellent. Nighttime crew in bar and at reception could use some hospitality lessons. ...read more

The art tour that you can take was fun. If you connect to their WiFi, it will give you a menu of choices to use on your phone. One of them was an audio tour of the art collection they have.

The entrance to the hotel is a little cramped. They do not have a "front desk" but a series of roll away desks. $30 for parking was a bit of a stretch but that seems to be the norm anymore. The room was excellent. We paid a little more than the deal to get a King Deluxe room but it was worth it. There were two half bottles of wine in the room from local wineries for a reasonable price ($18). It was high enough that we did not hear street noise. However, if you are sensitive to that, they DO give you ear plugs. Yes. Ear plugs. Genius. The restaurant was excellent. Try the venison if it is in season. Delicious. The hotel is downtown so one has an abundance of choices on where to eat if you do not want to eat in the hotel. They have afternoon tea on Sunday that we did not stay for. Overall, excellent hotel for the price we paid! ...read more

We were given a corner room with a great view, and on returning to our room found that they had performed turndown service. A wonderful experience for our "mini-moon".

Location was very good.
We had to pay an additional $30 to upgrade to an adequate size room for two.

The Hotel was very nice and all the accommodations were good. The only disappointing experience was the original room. It was like paying full price.

The staff were exceptional and the location was excellent.
The room was small and the bathroom was very small. We were only there one night so it worked out OK.

We enjoyed our stay at the Heathman. The lobby bar area is beautiful and was a great place to enjoy, it was our happy hour. The room was on the small side and
the bathroom was quite small for use by two people. The location is excellent and the staff were exceptional. We would definitely stay at the Heathman Hotel again.

Nice bath products and comfy mattress.
Walls really thin, traffic outside noisy, rooms seems outdated for the 5-star rating.

I was expecting a lot more from this hotel and was disappointed. Upon walking in, I felt like the hotel was outdated. For the 5 star rating it had on priceline, I was expecting something a little more swanky. The room was really small and the decor, again seemed outdated. The worst part of the experience, though, was being woken up at 12:30 by people talking in the hallway, hearing the next door neighbors. Also, the AC couldn't be adjusted and upon calling the front desk, I was told to "open the window and put in the ear plugs they provided." I would neither recommend this hotel to others or stay here ever again. Good parts: The people at the front desk were nice for the most part, it was convenient to the Pearl District and the bath products were high end. ...read more
