Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Hotel Roanoke And Conference Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Historical setting; gorgeous common areas; excellent restaurant and pub; well-appointed rooms; convenient access to downtown, including public transportation; romantic, opulent atmosphere.

The historic Hotel Roanoke is a fabulous example of Tudor-style architecture. From the moment you enter the enormous lobby, you realize that this is no typical accommodation. Operating since 1882, portraits of President George Washington and General Robert E. Lee flank the large check-in area, and the generous seating areas include a beautiful & functional marble fireplace. Civil War-era murals decorate an adjoining room with circular seating. A long, windowed hallway overlooks the interior courtyard, and advertises the fact that the Miss Virginia pageant is hosted here. Our premium room was resplendent with a carved four-poster bed, tapestries, a spacious bath, comfortable seating areas with period furniture, a floor-to-ceiling gilded mirror, a flat-screen TV with cable and on-demand programming, a full-sized desk with plentiful charging options for electronics, and complimentary in-room wireless. The Sunday brunch offered in the main restaurant was elegantly displayed and delightfully delicious. (As avid fans of smoked salmon, we agreed that theirs was superlative!) Whether you are staying for business or pleasure, Hotel Roanoke has much to offer the discerning traveler. ...read more

Noisy. No exhaust fan in bathroom. No mini fridge. Housekeeping not up to par.

Marriott a better choice.

Beautiful hotel!
Noise from hallways is loud, price to rent movies was unreasonable.

Beautiful romantic hotel getaway. We loved this as our weekend stay - cation which was about a half hour from where we lived. Enjoyed Roanoke restaurants and were able to walk Downtown safely and easily. Well definitely plan a second weekend trip here again.

location of hotel to arena at which concert we were attending
for the price of the rooms they are no bigger/nicer than a "regular" hotel

when we checked in the room we were given had not even been cleaned, the bed was not changed. we had to switch rooms and sleep separetly on 2 full size beds. staff was somewhat friendly, made me feel that they were only doing it for a tip, did not feel very welcome, like we were not the "class" of person that would normally stay there.

room spacious, bed very comfortable, easy access to downtown restaurants and museum
one elevator dirty, poor TV reception

This hotel manages to retain its original, historic feel simultaneous to having the comforts of a new hotel.

Old time opulence with modern convenience and comforts.
At least some rooms are tiny.

Some rooms are tiny if well furnished and comfortable. The hotel is a historic property in downtown Roanoke. Locals value it highly.
