Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Normandy Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location of this hotel was just a few blocks away from two Metro stations and many wonderful restaurants. It's close to the zoo and Dupont Circle. I like the French-inspired decor. There was also free wi-fi throughout the hotel, which I find is rare.
The rooms were very small and the ceilings were low, so if you are a tall person you might not like staying here. My room didn't have a bathtub, which was kind of a letdown since I was hoping to soak after running a half marathon. It is also Valet only.

This hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. I felt that it was well worth the price I paid and then some. They had complimentary wine and cheese every evening and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I talked to many people working there and everyone was glad to offer directions and general conversation. The rooms had a lot of small touches that I liked like espresso machines and night lights in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. This is really the place to stay if you're visiting Washington, DC and you want to stay in a quiet neighborhood and then Metro into the heart of the city. When I visit the zoo again or just want a relaxing visit, I will most certainly be staying here. ...read more

The service was speedy with check-in and cleaning. They had a daily wine and cheese hour which we took part of 3/4 days of our trip. One day it was raining and we could "check out" an umbrella to use on our days expedition.
There were no water fountains or ability to purchase or be given water bottles. The breakfast is way too over priced for cold breakfast when you could go next door to Marriott Courtyard and buy a sandwich croissant for $8.

This hotel is a great location: 10 minute walk to DuPont Circle, 25 minute walk to M st and Georgetown shops. The hotel has a business computer for printing or email services but they do not have water fountains. There are nespresso machines in the rooms which we used at least once. We took part in the daily hour of wine and cheese! We would stay here again, but only at a discount price! Thank you, Priceline for allowing us to afford our trip! ...read more

The area was perfect, in the middle of DuPont circle, Woodley park and embassy row, but tucked of the man drag within the embassy row residents. A get away oasis. I LOVVED it!
Tight room and soft internet connection, but everything else made up for it.

Relaxing oasis within the DC city limits! Loved the happy hour and relaxing common area. A B&B feel with the amenities of a hotel. A true Boutique Hotel.

Great beds and showers. Perfect location.
No soda or snack machines. Free happy hour but boring breakfast that costs $16.95!!!!

Great location

Room was very tiny with one small window in the corner, not enough storage space...but...very very clean, staff very responsive
I do believe the rooms designated to Priceline bookings are the dregs...and when you ask for something better...they look at you..."are you out of your mind? For what you paid?"

Free coffee in rooms. Free wine happy hour. Nice location near Dupont Circle. Nice neigborhoods with embassies nearby.
Cramped room. Bed had canopy frame which made the room feel smaller. Form over function bathroom.

Nicely located in a quiet neigborhood between Woodley and Dupont Metro. We would walk downhill to Dupont Metro to the city, and then take the metro back to Woodley Park so that we didn't have to walk uphill to hotel. Woodley Park, Adams Morgan, and Dupont Circle restaurants all within walking distance. Check out Open City for breakfast, and Bistro Du Coin for dinner. Embassy row is an easy walk from hotel. Bed in room very comfortable. I would stay here again. Nice location and good price. ...read more

Th Normandy Hotel was located in a really beautiful, quiet location within walking distance of at least one metro stop and several neighborhoods. The room was nicely redone with a comfortable bed and a well-lit bathroom.
The room was pretty small, but it didn't really matter since we were basically out all day and only there to sleep.

I'd definitely stay here again - we got a great price considering the neighborhood and quality of the hotel. Centrally located, so it's easy to take a metro anywhere and it was also inexpensive to take a cab to the monuments.

NOpe. Just what we were looking for!

Our stay was great. Just what we were looking for. Close to the attractions we wanted to see. Easy parking even on the street.

EVERYTHING
I initially shared a room with two queen sized beds which was too crowded. The elevator was in an awkward location and needed to me updated.

A small quiet hotel with an intimate atmosphere less that half a block off Connecticut avenue, close to shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the Dupont Circle metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The public spaces were comfortable and welcoming. Rooms were small, but beautifully appointed. The bathroom had a large shower and modern updated appliances. There is no restaurant, in the hotel, but they do provide a breakfast buffet for a charge and coffee is always available. ...read more
