Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Roosevelt Hotel New York

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was definitely not a four star hotel. 2.5 star maybe.

We lowered the staff evaluation because we were misinformed by the concierge. He told us we could not check luggage at Penn Station when taking Amtrak. I called Amtrak directly and we did check our luggage at Penn Station with no problem.

The location was great. One block over from grand central station. The concierge Michael was really helpful when I had questions. Behind the hotel on Vanderbilt st. there is a little restaurant called Uncle Pauls this is a must eat for pizza and pasta

Historical landmark with helpful staff and spacious rooms. If only the rooftop lounge had been open, would have been perfect!
The radio didnt work and only paper cups were available. Personally, a 4-star hotel should have glasses.

Valet parking and tolls were added expenses. Don't forget to factor in. The hotel had a post office which made post cards easy... Speaking of which the cock and bull restaurant was a block away and gave complimentary post cards with the check. About 30 -40 minute walk to Strawberry Fields in Central Park.

No coffe makers or fridge. Tv barely worked. It was pouring early in the morning with rain and we asked about an umbrella. Said we had to wait in line (it was long) didn't tell us we could purchase one in store which we eventually found out.

Beautiful hotel, fitness room, restaurant, just not as friendly and helpful as we found the Salisbury to be. Would definitely go back there next time.

Very comfortable room, clean and with an excellent bed. Some noise in the corridors at night with people returning, loudly, to their rooms.
Checking in early meant having to wait in a long line to leave your luggage until 4:00.

Great location.
The room was disappointing. Toilet never worked properly in the five days we were there. Hotel staff attempted to fix the problem several times but were not successful. Was told hotel was booked solid so no opportunity to change rooms.

Hotel did not meet my expectations. Toilet never worked properly. Elevators malfunctioned. Not worthy of the 4 star rating.

Good location. Free breakfast. Let us leave our luggage behind the desk while we were out and about.
The sheets were dirty; looked like mold spots on them!

Good location, free breakfast nice, staff nice but room was small and not very clean -- the sheets on the bed were actually stained and dirty-looking (mold stains??)

The location of the hotel is undeniable good for our purposes.
The Roosevelt is by no means a 4 star hotel, 3 star at best. The toilet leaked. Most of the staff did not seem happy. People were very noisy at 2:00 am. At 10:00 am Sunday morning there was a beer bottle on the floor of the elevator. I can provide a photo

This hotel is in a great location in midtown. But I do not consider it 4 star. It is rundown and tired. I can tell in its day it was grand, but not anymore. The restrooms available in the lobby smelled. One of the stalls didn't have a lock. Generally speaking the staff with the exception of the cleaning crew did not seem happy to be there and were not the most helpful. With this experience in mind, I will never use Priceline again. ...read more

Location
Really "cheap" room for a 4* hotel. Bored and almost rude checkin staff
