Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Roosevelt Hotel New York

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Central to most of the tourist locations and just beautiful. Felt like I was paying top dollar for a ritzy hotel all keeping my wallet happy. Great price for an amazing hotel.
Nothing. Everything was perfect during my stay.

The helpful front desk staff were the only saving grace about this hotel. The cleaning staff was very noisy in the hallway.
About everything else. The rooms were old. The bathroom especially. The carpet was scary to step on. This was not four star!

I don't like giving bad reviews but as a New Yorker when I chose to splurge on a hotel in Manhattan for a night I expect luxury. My stay at a Holiday Inn in Brooklyn during Hurricane Irene was much more luxurious than my stay at the Roosevelt Hotel a couple of days ago. Scary carpets, old bathrooms with dangling fixtures, a heating and cooling center from the stone age? There is a way to do old fashion; this place is simply doing rundown. I thought the name Roosevelt was supposed to be synonymous with the very best. What is going on? Until they do some major renovation, DO NOT spend anywhere over
xxx a night. I spent a little less than that and still felt cheated.

the lobby was a true masterpiece. don't see this kind of extravagance any longer. old style class.
size of the room was EXTREMELY small. i don't understand why priceline customers are penalized by room location and sizes. if they don't want the Priceline business, why do they place their rooms in the Priceline inventory. toilet and tub were dirty.

see above comments. otherwise, great location and beautiful public spaces. conundrum: why do 4 & 5 star hotels charge for WIFI and 3star and below give it complementary? would choose the Hyatt 48Lex over the Roosevelt any day.

It was definitely not a four star hotel. 2.5 star maybe.

We lowered the staff evaluation because we were misinformed by the concierge. He told us we could not check luggage at Penn Station when taking Amtrak. I called Amtrak directly and we did check our luggage at Penn Station with no problem.

The location was great. One block over from grand central station. The concierge Michael was really helpful when I had questions. Behind the hotel on Vanderbilt st. there is a little restaurant called Uncle Pauls this is a must eat for pizza and pasta

Historical landmark with helpful staff and spacious rooms. If only the rooftop lounge had been open, would have been perfect!
The radio didnt work and only paper cups were available. Personally, a 4-star hotel should have glasses.

Valet parking and tolls were added expenses. Don't forget to factor in. The hotel had a post office which made post cards easy... Speaking of which the cock and bull restaurant was a block away and gave complimentary post cards with the check. About 30 -40 minute walk to Strawberry Fields in Central Park.

No coffe makers or fridge. Tv barely worked. It was pouring early in the morning with rain and we asked about an umbrella. Said we had to wait in line (it was long) didn't tell us we could purchase one in store which we eventually found out.

Beautiful hotel, fitness room, restaurant, just not as friendly and helpful as we found the Salisbury to be. Would definitely go back there next time.
