The service at the Standard hotel is amazing. We will only stay at this Hotel. Rooftop bar is the best.

This is the best hotel. We have stayed there at least 6 times and we are never disappointed. The service is the best. The rooftop bar is amazing. We can't wait to go back. We will never stay anywhere else in LA. Thank you Standard Hotel for making us always feel so comfortable!

Enjoyed the roof top bar.
The clear walls of the bathroom were a little strange to get used to.

We enjoyed staying at the hotel, but it had less amenities than expected for star rating/price. If you are a very private person you will not like the clear walled bathroom. My only complaint would be that at check-in we were told there would be a $150 hold on our credit card - not that that was on top of the $155 room charge. Plus taxes they put a $339 hold on our card. Also when the charge went through there was a charge for a mini bar item we didn't take. We opened the fridge to put in leftovers. They assumed that since we opened it we must have taken something and just charged us for a misc. item. It was a small charge but annoying non the less. Also note that this is a hotel for adults, not kids. ...read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unexpected for hipsters in LA.
Parking fees were way too high.

The stay was fun, as expected. I am a seasoned traveler and knew that this would be a young, party hotel. The furnishings were trendy and quirky and the hotel is a little beat up from the clientèle, but hey, it's downtown La, what do you expect? The staff was awesome. Very nice people.

Modern art theme.
Pool was behind super trendy bar, very uncomfortable atmosphere for non-trendy people.

This hotel was awesome, except the pool. Staff was great, room was beautiful, hotel was great, except pool. Pool was located on roof, past a popular, trendy bar. I had to walk through crowds of drinking people to swim in pool, and it was anything, but relaxing. Everybody drinking at bar was staring at me swimming, it was pretty much awful.

Ugly room with glass shower, noisy guests woke me up on 2 different days in dead of night.

Not what I would consider "luxury", even if that's what they think. Concierge said he would call when my room was ready but never did. Room is laid out terribly with only a plastic chair, nowhere to put your luggage, TV on a stand in the corner that may as well be on the floor. Wrong time on the clock and I couldn't change it myself, didn't clean my room because the key didn't work. The shower is glass and exposes you to the rest of the room as well as the window overlooking Flower St. Ironing board is 12" tall instead of full size. Woken up on 2 separate nights thanks to partyers arguing in the hall at 3am and music blaring in adjoining room. The room reminds me of a hip kid's apartment that decorated on a modest budget but with a bit of artsy flair. Unfortunately, it comes across as just plain cheap. I'm hardly a picky hotel patron, but it became a bit of a game to find anything positive about my experience here. The only thing that comes to mind is the iron worked very well and whoever wrapped the power cord did it very professionally. Seriously, I have never filled out one of these surveys, so it goes to show how strong I feel about my stay here. ...read more

The pool was nice, the location of the hotel is very very central, very convenient.
Lack of amenities(coffee maker), dirty hotel, dim lights not enough to put make up on.

They gave us a smoking room, smelled terrible, dirty carpets, ugly lounge, expensive hotel parking. The only redeeming factor is the location of the hotel. I will never stay at this hotel again. There's not even a spa.

Location and the front desk staff, how clean the Hotel is. Courtesy valet attendants.
The 70's theme, the bathroom sink and low counter top not user friendly.
