Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Standard - East Village

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Modern design.
Clogged shower drain. It could be cleaner.

The common spaces were unique and welcoming.
The room was way too small for the king bed.

Great location. Relaxed ambiance. Nice place to chill but standard (no pun intended) room is very small and dark. Our first night was totally overpriced. Not having a coffee maker in the room was a disappointment and would probably be a turnoff for business travelers.

The beds are excellent
A/C should work better and entry (front desk) change from Cooper isn't great

We love the location for the convenience to our specific needs

Location was near my son's apt and subway. Clean, modern, fun hotel.

Great location.
Room was extremely small, no desk, no shade on bathroom window.

Got a room on the 20th floor, facing northeast. For over $300 a nite, I got a room so small, I had to step outside just to turn around. No shades on the bathroom window, so when the sun comes up, it's like a death ray coming into the room. Had to shut the bathroom door to hold off the sun. No desk to sit down at...the mini bar refrigerator was so loud I thought it was made by Harley Davidson. ...read more

Greenwich Village location charming and fun...warmed bathroom floor - wow!
No bellman, doorman sometimes.

Perfect location for a jazz lover in the Village. Close to NYU, fun and delicious restaurants. I will be back!

Staff member,
cleanliness of bed linens; view of lower Manhattan; snacks; room service.
Barked shins on bed frame; had to ask for a second chair; elevator too dark to read numbers; and dangerous window.

The decor tries hard to be "cool" but needs more attention to guests' comfort, e.g., TWO comfortable chairs, should be provided in a room with a king-size bed and two bathrobes. Or is one person supposed to sit on the bed having breakfast? This said, when we asked for a second chair, one was delivered almost immediately. When I called the desk to ask how to close the upper window without amputating my hand at the wrist, "an engineer" immediately arrived. Breakfast arrived in TEN MINUTES flat.
He put together a list of homey and festive restaurants.

The room was small and overpriced. Facilities were moderate quality. Staff was kind but not proactive. Breakfast was not included.

Mediocre experience at The Standard East Village. The room was small and clearly overpriced, the hotel amenities and facilities limited. Location is not ideal and the hotel is disconnected from its surroundings. Given the mediocre quality of my stay overall, I was surprised when I was charged for an average continental breakfast.
