The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta

Next to Marina, walk across the street, quiet part of town, 15min to Old Town.

The hotel is in a good location - we decided to bus it and the bus was stopped right in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing and pricey. We decided to stop at a supermarket and found great food there- old town also had great food and just a short bus away. Our favorite foods were the shrimp and fish grilled on the beach.

The amenities which were supposed to be included in the price were denied! We had to pay for the Internet Wifi signals which was not strong enough to surf the internet and perform necessary tasks. The bench and towel rentals on the beach were too high! US$40.00/day even if you wanted it for a couple of hours!! The response for room service or problems were too slow! I found the staff to be friendly and courteous. The grounds were beautiful and taxi service was quick and great along with easy and quick access to the bus routes. I was disappointed that the hotel was so empty I also thought for my needs the complimentary wifi in the lobby was just fine.

I love this hotel, that's what I keep coming back. Next time I will request a higher floor.

This hotel should simply not be ranked as a 4-star hotel. Especially considering that it is a Westin, I expected much more. It seems that a portion of a timeshare condominium complex has been converted into a hotel. The buildings are designed such that there doesn't seem to be any unobstructed views. In the rooms, there is a large window between the bathroom and the sleeping area. Unless you fancy watching someone using the toilet, this was really an unintelligent design. Also, the ventillation in the room and bathroom is very poor. Overall, the quality of the rooms and the hotel are lacking - the place has a motelish feel.Despite this, they are quite eager to charge absurd amounts for little things... 10 USD an hour for a "business center" with ancient computers and a sad printer! ...read more
