Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Wit A Doubletree Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 20, 2013

One of the things I always wanted to do, and had added to my Bucket List, was to do a 3 night 4 day stay in the Chicago Loop. So, my husband and I decided to stay at the Wit Hotel and have a fun filled weekend adventure. The room was nice, with a slight view of the Chicago River. The bathroom was large. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. The mattress on the bed was very comfortable. The bed linens and towels were comfortable. The pillows were not the best, just okay. However, the staff was very courteous and professional. The location of the Wit Hotel is perfect for Chicago loop attractions; it is right by the bus stop and subway station. We put on our walking shoes and walked all over the place. We took the #6 bus to the Museum of Science and Industry. The bus was $2.25 per person each way. The Wit does offer parking, with in and out privileges, for $50 a day. I know that seems steep... but just pay it. We tried to save money by parking on the street. We learned a very hard and expensive lesson...so learn from our mistake. We parked on Lake street, next to the hotel. There were 2 signs on the pole... one sign stated "No Parking 5:00am to 2:00am" the other sign stated "No parking Monday-Friday 6:00am to 6:00pm". Since we were parking on a Saturday, we thought it would be okay to park. Our car was ticked and towed. We had to pay $60.00 for the ticket and $160.00 for the tow....a total of $220 that could have been used for fine dining, spa services, or something better. I tried to reason with the Towing service for a reduced fine but the man got very nasty with me and said "We assume people can read. If there are 5 signs on the pole...all 5 signs apply". We would not let this man steal our joy! We had a BALL! We went to 3 different plays and ate at a different restaurant each day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had the full Chicago Loop experience! We look forward to visiting the Wit Hotel again and are excited about our next Chicago loop adventure. ...

Great place to stay if wanting a more modern, chic hotel. Parking is horrible throughout city so expect $50 each day for valet.

Fun "boutique" hotel. The ROOF bar is a must.
