Wild Dunes' cheaper yet "solid" Tom Fazio design is tough "but not gimmicky" and plays further inland than its sister course, providing a "great tour of the Intracoastal Waterway" and "saltwater marshes"; still, it's close enough to the ocean to warrant "bringing an anchor on gusty days", as well as a "ball retriever", thanks to all the marshes and dunes; P.S. "watch out for gators."

Although this "beautiful, challenging" "Tom Fazio seaside links" design north of Charleston has "suffered a lot at the hands of Mother Nature", with the 18th green lost to coastal erosion, fans insist the last three holes are still "not to be missed", especially when a new 18th opens in spring 2009; the "rest of the course is wonderful", featuring towering dunes and 14 water holes.
