Located on the site of the 2002 Olympic ski trails, this mountainside layout from Gene Bates brings home the gold as a "challenging" "links-style course" offering "nice elevation changes" along with "sand and water hazards" and "many blind shots", so "pick your tees wisely" and brace yourself for "some nasty fescue"; what's more, low greens fees make it "a good value all the time"; P.S. "shade is scarce", so "bring plenty of sunscreen."

"Prairie dogs abound", and as evidenced by the "aroma from the nearby grazing areas", so do lots of other animals on this "very hilly" track in a "mountain setting" "not far from Park City and Salt Lake City"; otherwise, it's "never crowded", perhaps because it's pricey "compared to other courses in the area"; nevertheless, it's "great to play in the fall" when you can "watch your ball fly in the high altitude" toward a "backdrop of wonderful foliage" followed by a meal at Simon's, the resort's highly recommended restaurant.

While "not incredibly challenging", "you won't believe the beauty" of this "fun little course" near Midway, an "old-style" state park track that offers "amazing views" of the Heber Valley; considered "fair for all handicaps" and "very walkable" compared to its Mountain sibling (which requires carts), it's particularly "nice during the week" when the crowds abate – although bargain-hunters hint "you can play everyday at these rates."

Although the many "elevation changes and sidehill lies" make this mountain layout seem like it's "designed to mess with those who aren't used to the altitude", the track's "lovely surroundings" and "wildlife galore" ("watch out for moose") lead fans to conclude that it's "tough to find a better course with better views"; factor in "great service", and the reasonable "rates will leave you smiling and wondering why you'd play anywhere else."

Part of a state-owned facility nestled "on the side of a mountain", this Gene Bates effort is considered "easier than the Gold", "a fun course for all handicaps" that's "a bit of a challenge but doable", with an unusual combination of par 3s, 4s and 5s (six each); "nice views" of Heber Valley and Mount Timpanogos, especially from the clubhouse restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling windows, add to the layout's "value for the money."
