The "overall cool factor" of this "upscale" hotel with a "bold" art deco design impresses some guests, while others like its location near the restaurants and lakefront of Downtown Milwaukee; although the "friendly" staff can be "unfocused" and "a little in love with itself", especially in the Zen Lounge, and the hip vibe doesn't quite compensate for lackadaisical housekeeping, many still declare this hotel "memorable."

The "grande dame of Milwaukee", this 1893 Downtown Victorian is an "elegant", "sophisticated" "unexpected pleasure"; the "lobby is gorgeous", the "charming", though "smallish", rooms are "beautiful" and the top-floor bar with views is "wonderful", so even if a few modernists deem it "tired", most find a "unique" "Midwestern classic."

Located 25 miles north of Milwaukee, this 1995 Arnold Palmer design just "gets better as it gets older", offering "some of the best-rolling public-access greens in the state" on a "challenging" layout that's considered "solid" despite "three or four goofy holes"; "country-club conditions" and a large clubhouse and practice facility take the edge off "pricey" greens fees, as do preseason passes that are a "great deal."
