"It's big, but it works" declare disciples of this "dark-wooded, leather and antler-motifed" Vail resort; the "beautiful slope-side" setting has "true ski-in/ski-out" access, while the "peaceful" spa (a "bit of a hike" away) is nevertheless "terrific"; regulars also rave about staffers who "remember you year after year" and are pleased by the $30-million renovation, completed in spring 2008, that updated the restaurant, bar, pool, deck, rooms and conference facilities.

"Stunning views", "unbelievable elevation changes" and groves of aspen combine to produce "mountain golf at its best" aver admirers of this "spectacular" layout in Silverthorne that also features alpine streams, sprawling fingered bunkers and an "eagle's nest off of one of the holes" ("not sure why the course is called 'Raven'"); the track itself is kept "in great condition", although at least one surveyor "hardly noticed with all of the unforgettable sights."
