Built in the 1880s, this Key West building was Ernest Hemingway's residence from 1931 to 1939, a period during which he wrote The Snows of Kilimanjaro, among other works; the limestone house still has many of its original furnishings, and you'll have a chance to check out Papa's writing studio, the area's first swimming pool and the many six-toed felines thought to be descendants of the author's pet cat.

People of all ages will enjoy a stroll inside this tropically landscaped Key West conservatory where over 50 species of colorful, exotic butterflies – and now birds – flit through the air; there's also a gallery and gift shop offering everything from books to butterfly-themed jewelry, and since it's located on the upper (read: quieter) end of Duval Street, it's a perfect spot for holding a small, after-hours wedding ceremony.
