Surrounded by "beautiful grounds", this "nautical-themed" beachfront resort in Shipyard Plantation is "tastefully decorated" with a "lovely outside pool area", "updated furnishings" and a main hall with "mahogany walls"; rooms are "large", with "so-nice" linens, but some just have views of "rooftops and noisy, unattractive a/c units" and that "surprise" $10 daily resort fee that covers parking, coffee and use of the pools strikes penny-pinchers as a charge for "things that most hotels offer" free.

This "peaceful", "beachfront beauty" boasts "breathtaking" ocean views, a "great beach for walking", "well-kept grounds" (that are so "large" it can be a "long" trek to the rooms) and a pool area that offers "plenty of room to spread out"; added pluses are the "personal service", new 8,000-sq.-ft. spa and "lots of organized kids activities", though finicky types find fault with the "marginal" dining and "tired" furnishings.

"See dolphins" from "your own private balcony" at this "beautiful beachfront locale" that's "excellent for a family vacation" or a "romantic" weekend; "older" yet "well-maintained", it has "spacious" suites (plus larger waterfront rooms) featuring "a kitchenette and a small living area", "marble baths" and "free high-speed Internet", along with "spectacular" grounds that include two Jacuzzis, an on-site spa, "big" pools and a summer children's club; just don't be surprised if, at certain times, you find "kids everywhere."

Surveyors "never tire of coming back" to this "family-friendly" resort with "lots to do", saying it's "become a tradition" for them; the 5,200 acres of "lush surroundings" include "excellent golf", bike trails, "fabulous clay tennis courts" and a horse farm, while rooms with "the most beautiful baths", an "accommodating staff" and "all kinds of restaurants" (even if food leaves "a little to be desired"), add up to a "hassle-free vacation."
