The "beautiful setting" "on the tail end of the Riverwalk" ("quiet at night, but still walkable to all the hoopla") is the main "attraction" of this chain outpost that "personalizes" the "fantastic Westin name" "with Southern charm" and "generous hospitality"; the "spacious" rooms are "outstanding" (especially those "overlooking" the river) and while the food "could be better", "there are lots of restaurants within minutes" (and plans for a new on-site eatery).

"A beautiful lady to stay with", this "charming" all-suite newcomer boasts "stunning", "European"-style accommodations with "separate living areas"; those who "love every minute of it" say the extra room makes it "fine for a family", while "live music in the bar" and a "rooftop pool" mean it's "suitable for a romantic getaway" as well; with a "premier location" "on the south end of the Riverwalk", you "don't need a car" to reach "dining, the Alamo and museums" – and you can avoid the "expensive" valet parking that way.

Even though it's "a short drive from Downtown San Antonio", this "gorgeous" "countryside" resort on a 100-year-old cattle ranch "is a destination in itself" where "great golf", a "gracious spa facility", "one of the best lazy river pools" "for kids" and hayrides make it a "favorite family getaway"; rooms are "nothing special", but "fantastic amenities", decent fare and "enthusiastic service" elicit a hearty "eye-haw" – just "don't go unless you have children" or don't mind a place "overrun" with them.

Nestled in a "perfect spot on the Riverwalk", this "romantic" and "unique" landmark hotel is an "absolutely charming" alternative to other "big box" chain choices here; the recently renovated Spanish Colonial–style rooms can be "tiny", but those that "overlook the pool" are "amazingly quiet", and the "Sunday brunch at Las Canarias is a don't-miss event"; N.B. guests have access to the spa of its sister property, Watermark Hotel.

"Surprisingly good", with "nice" indoor and outdoor pools, an "excellent" bar and a gym with sauna, this office-complex chain link also features "wonderful corner rooms" and competent staffers; but the suburban location in Northwest San Antonio (close to Six Flags and high-end shopping) is "miles from Downtown", and more sophisticated surveyors say it's a "very average" find.

Though it's "on the edge of Hill Country", this "sprawling", "family-oriented" resort has "everything you could need"; duffers dig the "spectacular" links – including one course designed by Arnold Palmer – kids love the five swimming pools (there's "an adults-only area, thank God") and proximity to Six Flags, and grown-ups seeking a "quiet getaway" can partake of "wonderful spa services" or enjoy "breathtaking views" while dining at Francesca's at Sunset.

Near the Riverwalk and RiverCenter Mall, this chainster feels like a "private hacienda", "even though it is not small"; among the pluses are "friendly" staffers, courtyard views, a year-round heated pool and up-to-date high-tech capabilities, while voters are less impressed with the Anaqua Grill's "passable" New American fare; overall, the verdict is "adequate", with a "great location" that "outweighs" its shortcomings.
