First it was Reverend Henry Ward Beecher's estate, then a hunt club, a private school for boys and now this luxe vacation destination, which includes a course that is "not long" and "great for high-handicappers" – if they "take a caddie or buy a yardage book" because, unlike the resort's ambiance, there's "nothing elegant" about "blind shots" and "a few holes that are impossible to understand"; however, "thoughtful amenities" abound, such as a "great golf school", a "spa for non-players" and four tantalizing restaurants for non-dieters.
