"You can whack the ball a mile in the thin mountain air" at this "nice interlude to gambling" surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains; the "run-of-the-mill" layout is "wide and flat" with "relatively large, fairly slow greens", but the setting is "stunning"; since this spread "doesn't cost an arm and a leg", perhaps it's all those "good-value" hunters "watching out for late snow", "water hazards", "geese and wolves" here that make for "five-hour endurance rounds."
