"Cut out of arroyos" "in the foothills above San Clemente", this "visually appealing" layout "runs along areas that are designated as a wildlife preserve", so "you'll never find houses butting up against half of the course"; it boasts "deep gorges and water", along with a "long and tough back nine", and although naysayers knock the "poor facilities" ("no driving range"), it remains a "good local option."
