Good location.
Place was unclean - bugs in breakfast area - debris in room.
This was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The room was not clean. The sink had dirt & a faucet that was semi-connected. There was a petrified piece of something under the ice bucket. There were flying bugs in the breakfast room area in with the donuts. Staff was notified of these things.

Low price.
Run down.
Location was acceptable about 10 minutes to Metro station, 10 minutes to Old Town Alexandria. Everything was clean. It was quite old and parts of the wall were cracked, etc. However, overall for the price and cleanliness it was worth it.

The place gave us the creeps, we did not even spend the night there, we left!

The manager was friendly.
Manager said there was nothing they could do about the dirty room.
This hotel was the dirtiest I have ever been in. I would never recommend this place.

Comfortable bed good parking.
Not as clean as would have liked carpets in corridor looked dirty and tatty.
Easy to find parking good.

It was very cheap - I saved a lot of money.
It was barely tolerable in terms of cleanliness and condition.
Great price - but you get what you pay for!

Huge room, clean, polite staff, free parking, funky (old-fashioned).
Entrance lay-out and cramped stairwell.
This was a basic, old-fashioned hotel with a large room (plenty of space for floor exercises to keep in shape!). A quiet location that was easy to get to and convenient to other old Town sites or for hopping on to the Interstate. Free parking was a plus, and the hotel staff was polite and helpful. Nothing fancy here, but solid and comfortable. I wish there were more places like this! read more

Walking distance (< 1 mile) from downtown Alexandria.
Cracked/missing bathroom tiles, poor air conditioning.
For the price, I have stayed in much nicer hotels. Poor A/C, ratty carpets, cracked bathroom tiles, bad paint job on the ceiling, light fixture missing, and buttons missing on the television. They advertised "all amenities you would expect." Their website even mentions refrigerator, which must have been a mistake because there was none. The staff barely speaks English. The only nice thing about it is that it is in a fairly good location. In general, I expected much more. read more

Staff's courtesy and attentiveness more than compensated for the rudimentary facilities.
Evening argument in parking lot below window, audible over AC on medium cool.
The staff's personal attention and care for guests made up for the humdrum facilities and were most important to this stranger in town.
