American Inn Sedalia

Poor experience from the beginning. No one in the office to check in. Waited approximately 20 minutes to get checked in. The room was small and dirty. The door had only one lock, which was on the doorknob, so there was no way to keep someone from coming in if they had a key. The furnishings were old, shabby, and unclean. There were stains and cigarette burns on the sheets and blankets. There was trash under the beds and behind the love seat. The bathroom was very small and dirty. The shower curtain had mildew. The door to the bathroom did not shut completely. We ended up buying sleeping bags and sleeping on top of the covers. read more

Clean but expensive.

Fairly nice place just not at all what I expected. The rooms were very small and the WiFi only worked part time. No amenities at all for the price charged.

At about 7 pm I called this hotels front desk from a town some 25 miles away to confirm that they would hold my room as I was still working and would only get there around 9 pm. When I showed up a little after 9 pm the owner operators informed me that they assumed I was a no show (although they recalled my earlier phone call). They casually told me they had let my room to someone else. I strongly objected to that claim and after several more stern words managed to get the charge reversed. I then had to make my own arrangements for a room in another hotel in the same town. This was a bad experience. read more
