No latch on bath door. Hair on sheets, filthy, felt scared for childrens well being.

I only took this room as it was the only one available in town.

The staff really did bend over backwards to try to make our stay enjoyable; it's just an old property, mainly.
Internet access would not work with our computer; bathtub never really looked clean, but could be the age of it; towels were sparsely provided.

For a 2-star lodging, we really couldn't complain. You can't expect shiny new accommodations in a 2-star place. But, I think the price could've reflected that even more. While wireless internet was featured in the amenities, it did not work consistently (at all, for us). The microwave and fridge were great assets, and the TV was wonderful. Nice furnishings, also. Not the hotel's fault at all, but Durham is in the grip of a drought, so we had to conserve water. That wasn't too fun. The staff here ranges from good to outstanding. Mostly the latter. read more

The directions to different locations.
We had to change rooms twice b/c the rooms were dirty.

Hotel was alright for the price we paid for it. It was very bad that the first two rooms they gave us were dirty and or occupied. Some of the staff did not know how to use the computer system.

Lower price.
Security should have been better. Lots of loud, rude people heard outside the room.

This motel is ok for business travelers but not for families. So much going on outside with vulgar language. Security should be there at all times! If these rooms have been redone, then they need to hire someone else to do it again.

The amenities were great for the price.
Hard beds.

For the money, I was pleasantly surprised. Some things left a bit to be desired but I got value for my money.

The hotel was convenient to Duke's campus.
The hotel had an awful smell.

This hotel smelt absolutely horrible. The staff was friendly, and it was pretty convenient to the camput.

Large rooms, easy access, good price.
Showing its age, bathroom could have been nicer.

Excellent value for the money. Easy access, very large rooms, friendly staff. Everything we expected at a motel in this price range.

Price and convenient location.
Strong potpourri smell.

This is a better than average "you get what you pay for" hotel. Very inexpensive, reasonably clean, friendly staff, convenient location - for the hotel patron motivated by savings. A utilitarian hotel that exceeds expectations for the price. I would call it a best value - but not for the high end or romantic vacationer.

You must be joking!
Vile, disgusting, filthy, faulty wiring, running faucets, rude staff, bugs, dirty pool.

The most disgusting place I have ever booked. I felt like calling the North Carolina dept of Health. We were refused a refund for our first night after we booked a different hotel. After I took a staff member to the horrid room they did agree to a refund and cancellation. Staff was very rude from start to finish.

Good room at most competitive rates.
Very basic plain Jane- no decor.

If you're not fussy, and you're looking for a room to stay for the night at a very competitive rate, that's the place to go. Very Basic Accommodations.
