Our hotel is less than 3 miles from Fort Hays State Historic Site, Fort Hays State University, and Buffalo Herd. Place for pet to use the restroom, had to walk down the block but wasn't to much of a hassle.

inexpensive.
Slightly noisy next to road but not too bad.

We needed an inexpensive overnight as we traveled - did not need frills. The Vagabond (aka America's Best Value) was excellent! Very nice staff, recently painted/decorated room and bedding that rivaled a luxury hotel! This was an unexpected treat! It was fine for our family - cheaper than other newer hotels in Hays but met our needs very well! I highly recommend this hotel for folks needing an overnight as they travel through Kansas! read more
