This property-s rustic feel and secluded beach coves - not to mention a unique outdoor pool in the shape of Maui - add up to a charming experience and a great vacation value. This hotel has been a landmark in the south Kihei area since 1954 and guests have come to recognize its quiet setting - two secluded beach coves- and its affordable comfortable accommodation. Guest rooms are spread throughout the grove and gardens with our deluxe rooms adjacent to the white sand beach - perfect for sun-tanning and whale watching. All rooms have mini-refrigerators. Daily maid service is provided. The Maui Lu has a unique- large swimming pool and two tennis courts where play is always complimentary. Our Activity Desk is always ready to make arrangements for golf- water sports - or sightseeing. In the evening Kihei is an ideal location with numerous restaurants and entertainment venues. 2009 PROPERTY UPGRADES Oceanside unit exteriors have been redone. Outdoor pool uniquely shaped like the island of Maui has been renovated and resurfaced. New furniture- picnic and a bbq area has been added. I liked the price, the grounds, and the location.
I felt it was outdated and a bit dingy.

The grounds were beautiful, but the room we stayed in felt outdated and a bit dingy. The bed was very hard, and the bathroom needs new caulking. I was glad to have an AC unit in our room, even though it was quite noisy.

Great location and wonderful ocean view.
It was wearing out and needed a little updating.

We have stayed twice now at this hotel and the location and ocean view are priceless. The staff are very friendly and respond immediately to your needs.

It was a big room.
It was very old and not updated.

The room had a little smell, it was clean. But everything was really old and kind of grungy looking. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space

The price is right (with Price line).
Needs serious maintenance.

It is old, and tired, but for the price is a steal. Always on the verge of being sold, and leveled, so they aren't wasting money on upgrading facilities. Tennis court no longer exists, but who cares? Quiet, away from traffic, but pretty grounds (trees, flowers, birds, etc.)
