The "enormous" contemporary rooms with marble baths and complimentary shuttle service win points for this Downtown "Vegas"-style tower that also offers a decent Cajun restaurant; but critics cringe over "tacky" decor, particularly in the public areas where "it looks like the Sistine Chapel – painted by a fourth grader."

Staff was excellent.
Room issue on check in.

Our room was ready early so we got the keys and then the room still had people on it! The staff was excellent, apologetic and set us up in an upgrade. They also took care of our luggage while we waited for the room and then comped out our parking. For having an issue at the beginning, they truely made it right. Bell man, valet man so wonderful with directions to cafe', and shopping areas. Great stay! read more

the room was absolutely beautiful and spaceous
the air conditioning in the room was not working, too hot for a good sleep.

Considering I didn't know that the air conditioning wasn't working well when I went to bed, I didn't feel like dealing with it in the middle of the night! I was surprised that I wasn't offered a discount on another stay when I checked out and informed them of the situation with the air-conditioner.

Very nice room.
There was no free parking near the hotel, you would think the hotel would be more accommodating and not charge you 20 to park.

The room was nice, and the loation great. But
I had to call twice in the morning for a luggage cart and wheb the guy finaly came her was kinda rude, and was rushing me. I also hated there was no parking, unless you wanted to pay $20.

The bellman was very nice
Our air conditioning didnt work

My husband had to leave for a family emergency and needed valet to get his car, they had him sign a form, next thing I know I am being thrown out of my room even though we paid cash upfront for the room at check in and left a $100 deposit, which they did not give back to us until we asked for it. They did not offer to call me a cab or anything and made me stand outside of the hotel with homeless people and crack heads asking for money. It was ridiculous and I will not only never stay in this hotel again, I wont visit the city of detroit again read more
