Location.
Parking was too far.

This is an old hotel. Don't be surprised that the floors are uneven, there isn't counter space in the bathroom, or enough outlets. Stay around for over 100 years & see how you look. I love old buildings, & this hotel is beautiful. It is built against a cliff, & there is a little coffee shop on the bottom floor you have to visit. Get one of their luscious scones I had cinnamon raisin, my aunt got blueberry, sit & unwind for a bit. Our room was on the 3rd floor, in front. There was more noise inside than outside, because there is little vehicle traffic - scooters, bikes, & feet are the most widely used. Our room actually had 2 rooms, plus the bath. The bedroom had the original sink in it, which was handy for 2 people to wash up, brush teeth, etc. I would stay here again, definitely. read more

Location and
history.
Noise from bar overhead.

Nice hotel with lots of history and convenient location. Room was nice and comfortable. The tub was dirty, with a ring of scum. When we complained about it, it took the staff all day to clean it. Maid service never came to room except from complaint and then only fixed complaint.

The Bell Hops were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean.
Could not rest comfortably in bed. Had no desire to be in room.

This Hotel is in a great location and the rooms were clean. That is the best thing about this hotel because there is nothing about the rooms to make you want to be there other than to sleep and shower. As far as sleeping, the beds were the worst I have slept in, and I have been in 14 different hotels this summer alone. The front desk staff, other than the night clerk, were far from helpful or friendly and often made us feel as if we were bothering them by checking in or asking a simple question. This Hotel is old and that is charming but is no excuse for the lack of "comfort" considering the classification of this as a 3 star hotel and the price for lodging. It is a 2 star at best and not worth a three digit price tag. read more

Great historical site, nice location, central Eureka.
Restaurant experience was sub-par.

The Basin Park is a great hotel, replete with history and panache. We had a great overall experience, although I cannot recommend the restaurant. I will dine elsewhere next time. That's a weak spot in an otherwise great experience!

Location.
Musty and dark and the food was not good.

Great location and easy walking distance to all the shops.
