Rather than answering all the questions the only thing I can say is they only had a smoking room when I booked the room. I should have asked if they had a non-smoking room when I checked in and there may have been one open. The hotel was great except for the smoke smell that permeated my clothing even after I went home and had to have everything washed or dry cleaned to get rid of the smell. One other problem I had was I made the coffee and turned the cup over and started to pour with out noticing there was clear seran wrap over the cup so it poured all over the counter. I learned in a hurry after cleaning up the coffee that didn't go in the cup because of the clear seran wrap. Normally there is a white color cap that you can see but clear on clear cups didn't work for me. ...

Quiet location with views of trees and creek. Attractive building from outside. Older building with outdated furnishing. Mildew in bathroom sink and mattress seemed worn out.

Family Traveling with Teens
The newly furbished rooms had comfortable beds and the non-smoking room actually did smell fresh. There were many small amenities such as Q-tips in the bath.

Best Western Black Oak Motor Lodge is great for people visiting Paso Robles who are not so concerned with frills. The place is kept clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is great if you're visiting the vineyards. It's a drive from downtown, but not too bad. I was pleased with my stay.
