The hotel certainly would not fall into the 2.5 star by me. The exterior door was not sealed, the bathroom and sink had been made with very cheap materials that looked dirty from a distance, but upon further observation, was clean, but unpleasantly stained. Overall the room was in very poor repair with screws falling out on the fixtures, and the carpet pulling up in places. The staff were very pleasant and attempted to be helpful, but maybe not terribly competent as they initially gave me a room that was occupied, which I discovered by entering the room, which would not make me too comfortable leaving anything of importance in the room. read more

The hotel is old - and shows it. The rooms were not cared for. I found someone's medication on the floor (thank goodness we didn't have a pet or child roaming around) and both the alarm clock and phone were disconnected (I had to move the furniture to plug them in).

Negatives: You can't pull up to the lobby and my room was on the second floor, up a narrow outdoor concrete stairway during an ice storm. Positives: Room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Free Wi-Fi. Very close to NIU.

This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The most disgusting smoke smell in a non-smoking room, no towels in the room when we arrived, the phone didn't work so we had to use our cell phone to call the front desk! Cigarette burns on the comforter! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is located directly next to railroad tracks. I woke up every time the train passed by that night. Our room was outdated and the floor did not appear clean at all. I had other family members staying in a separate room and they had no towels and the phone in their room didn't work. They had cigarette burns in their comforter and the room smelled of smoke, even though it was non-smoking. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else and I would not stay there again. read more

My stay was very comfortable. The suite was the size of two full rooms with a very small, but adequate kitchenette.
