This Clear Lake, Iowa hotel is situated midway between Des Moines and Minneapolis and offers a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast. The Best Western Holiday Lodge is conveniently located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 18 (Exit 194) and is one mile from downtown Main Street and Mason City Municipal Airport. Guests will enjoy the area's numerous parks, golf courses, lake, recreational trails and antique shopping. Guests are welcome to enjoy the complimentary deluxe continental breakfast and weekday newspaper. Fresh baked cookies are served Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The Best Western Holiday Lodge has an exercise room and an indoor heated swimming pool. Rooms have cable satellite TV programming with HBO and in-room wireless Internet access is available. The Best Western Holiday Lodge offers 5,900 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, capable of accommodating up to 400 guests in the grand ballroom. The staff was friendly.
Outdated, many things didn't work, and breakfast was ridiculous.

I normally don't ever write reviews on hotels because up until this point they have always been fine. This gives you an idea of how bad an experience we had. The elevator buttons didn't work. The elevators were way to small to even carry all of our staff and have my wife and child and stroller go up at the same time. The first room they put us in appeared like a dungeon. It was almost as if they redid the janitor's closet into a room. The breakfast in the morning was a joke. They barely had anything there and it wasn't anywhere near time for it to be done. The attached restaurant staff were horrible and not helpful at all. There was clearly space available but we were told that it would be a really long time to seat us. It was clean and the breakfast was decent.
Noisy, small rooms.

Overall, not a bad place. It is basic but clean. The rooms are on the small side and the television was old with questionable picture. The pool was nice and the breakfast exceeded expectations.

The breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Over all I had a great experience here. The bed was comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. I few things I noticed, the channel up button on the remote stuck, but it still worked. The free breakfast was not that great. The cereal and drinks were fine. The waffles were not very good. They were out of plates and some of the food items.

Need to update the linens and have better pillows.

Very good. Very clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. The gym equipment was in good condition. The rooms were attractive. The bathrooms were clean and attractive.
