This hotel is very stingy about their body wash soap and shampoo.

The check in hostess was very helpful and informative.
No free WI-Fi.

The hotel exceeded my expectation with a clean spacious room and pleasant and helpful staff. Wished Wi-fi was free and the room had AC. All in all a great stay.

This hotel was in a convenient location for my needs.
Free WiFi doesn't reach the back of the hotel. Incredibly overpriced for what you get.

I stayed here at the request of my business partner who lives close to this hotel. Location is fairly easy to get to off the 101. For the price paid, the hotel quality just doesn't come close to what it should be. The room was more economy and WiFi does not reach the back of the hotel, so you are completely out of luck. I had to sit in the lobby to get connected. The room had signs all over to remind you that they count the linens, towels etc. as if they expected me to take off with something. The bed and linens were not comfortable. If you like continental breakfasts, then this hotel will be right up your alley. They seem to have this down pretty good. read more

The bath room was immaculate the bed heaven.
Nothing.

I have a real adversion to nasty bathrooms i.e. tubs and showers. This hotel or at least the room
I stayed in had a tub shower toilet and sink that were immaculate. There was no mold or mildew it was so clean
I was impressed. I have stayed at 4star hotels who didn't have the same cleanliness of their bathrooms.

Consistency. We've stayed here before and it is always clean, comfortable, relaxing with great service.
I wish the bathrooms were nicer - a ceiling fan, better shower head etc.

South Coast Inn is a great hotel for the value. It is consistent in its cleanliness, service, comfort. The breakfast is plentiful and the coffee machine makes excellent coffee!

Very nice pool, breakfast great, staff nice.
Room a little small, bathroom set up not good for sharing room with older children.

This hotel was perfect for what we needed, and minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Santa Barbara. Beds very comfortable and place very clean. Great pool and very quiet. We enjoyed our stay but you do need a car to get around.

The location was great! Restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores are all right down the street!
There was a stain in our bathtub.

For the money and the location, this exceeded my expectations. The location (close to everything above & where we needed to go) and the gorgeous courtyard were definite pluses. The breakfast in the morning surprised as well--but if you want to take advantage of all they offer (waffles, eggs with cheese, cereals, oatmeal, pastries, bagels, breads, etc.) go early to avoid the 9am rush! read more
