The Swan Hotel enjoys a truly magnificent location, directly opposite the West Front of Wells Cathedral, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the country. The Best Western Swan Hotel is a 15th century coaching inn with original four-poster beds and cheerful log fires in lounge and bars. Facing the west from of Wells Cathedral, it is ideal for touring. Wells is a delightful city with many historic buildings. Close by are Glastonbury, Bath, Wookey Hole Caves, Clarks Shopping Village, Stourhead House and gardens and many other National Trust Properties. Staff were very warm and helpful.
First room we were put in was very depressing.

The hotel is in a choice location. Overall hotel was a bit tired. We were first put in one of their deluxe rooms which was dark and depressing. We asked to be moved and initially the desk clerk told us there was no other option, but the manager was great and moved us to a smaller room overlooking the cathedral and threw in breakfast to make up for the price difference in the two rooms. read more
