The botanical garden and small ponds were beautiful.
I couldn't believe that we obtained this hotel for the price that we paid. The room was very clean as were the linens. I loved the down-alternative comforter. The internet was fast and reliable. This would be perfect for business travelers and couples like us that just want a clean, safe place to stay for a few days. They even have a bin of umbrellas that you can borrow in case it rains (which it did). read more

The rooms very fairly clean.
They gave us a full size bed instead of two queens or one king as promised.
This hotel is very clean, the location isn't bad (about a half hour from DC by metro or driving), the outside of the hotel is extremely sterile and looked a lot like a compound which scared me on the drive in. The rooms they gave us was a suite which was nice, but when you are used to sleeping on a king sized bed switching to a full with two people is a huge change, especially when the room was stated as two queens or one king. This to me was the biggest downside of the hotel besides the staff being extremely slow at check in and check out. read more

Nice view. Free ice, and free ice water. Good for budget minded travelers.
Rooms are very small though. No fridge. Old style TV.

Beautifully grounds, generous upgrade, wireless internet, affordable and delicious restaurant.
The best money ever paid to stay at a hotel! The Bolger Hotel and Conference Center was like a resort, without the resort cost. Beautifully kept grounds, new suites, business conveniences (copy, fax, internet, etc.), swimming pool, on site, affordable restaurant, short drive to D.C. metro, set in a residential area, and overall a wonderful, enjoyable stay.

Excellent gym & other facilities; glorious lawn surroundings - like a castle; good restaurant & in-between snack facilities.
Distance to tourist destinations in Washington DC.
This hotel was a breath of fresh air. though a bit inconvenient to subway, & other transport into Washington DC tourist areas, this is more than compensated for by its beautiful lawn surrounds, spaciousness (though not in rooms themselves - just average size, excellent gym, great restaurant, generous facilities for (free) snacks, late breakfast, etc, & very well cared-for, clean rooms, etc. Highly recommended. read more

Far from everything. No hot water in room; staff unable to remedy.
This hotel is only suitable for a large retreat-type conference. It is quite remote from everything: subway, shopping, restaurants. My room had no hot water, and the staff was unable to remedy the problem despite repeated calls. My wife and I were eventually taken to another building, a long walk away in sub-freezing temperatures, to shower. Among the worst hotel experiences I've stayed. I will not return to this hotel for any purpose. My stay at cross-country camp in high school 25 years ago was similar in feel to this hotel, but the camp, at least, had hot water. read more

They gave us a free upgrade to a much nicer room for the cost of the less expensive room.
The hotel seemed very large but disconnected buildings were far apart 100 yards.
This is hotel designed for business gatherings and team building. This works very well for that I am sure. I was very satisfied with service however would not recommend for weekend getaway or folks with children.

Location was good and staff very co-operative.
The heat/air system can only allow one system to work at a time and takes 2/3 days to shift over. We had 80 degree weather and no air conditioning for 3 days! We were very uncomfortable! They did provide a fan but it was only of minimum help. Also restaurant dinner hours were very short, after 8:30 p.m. only food available in the bar and no breakfast/coffee after 8:30 a.m.
