Description of California Othon Classic
Situated mid - point the gentle curve of Copacabana Beach, California Othon enjoys a privileged location in relation to the surrounding commercial in the city. Within easy reach, a few steps away from the hotel the guest can find an enormous variety of shops, souvenir places and a variety of malls for clothing, shoes and amenities. We offer a free shuttle service from hotel to the airport 07:00 to 17:00. To use this service you will need to reserve it before hand to see if we have availability. On all periods below, In case of Paytell, it MUST be advised at the time of booking, otherwise the hotel will consider the credit card informed, and it will not be authorized change of payments after the reservation confirmed -Please make sure that all reservations are clearly mentioned ways of payments- Paytell is not applicable for the over-commission promotion. Hotel will pay TA commission directly. NEW YEARS PACKAGE CONDITIONS - From the period between 26th DEC 2009 to 31st DEC 2009 NEW YEARS PACKAGE, the hotel require a valid credit card with valid expired date and authorization to full prepayment with 45 days prior to arrival (CCD policy), otherwise hotel will not hold the room. In case of Paytell, it MUST be advised at the time of booking, otherwise the hotel will consider the credit card informed, and it will not be authorized change of payments. -Please make sure that all reservations are clearly mentioned the method of payment- During these special periods, all cancellations must be 45 days before check in date to avoid any penalty. Payments received are NON REFUNDABLE. In case of cancellation after due date or no show we will charge for the entire package period (04 nights mandatory) as stated on the minimum length of stay. This charge is NON REFUNDABLE. The reception area and b breakfast room.
The bedroom was very shabby and basic.

It was very deceiving, the lobby looked nice, but when I entered the room I was very disappointed. The bedrooms need updating, and the carpet on the corridors need to be changed.

All the beds in Rio seemed uncomfortable. Not just them.

Great value for the money. Great staff. Never settle for first price on any taxi ride.

The price seemed good because the location was great.
The a/c didn't work and the bath tub was stained and the bath tub curtain had a lot of mildew.

The location was great. The room was very quiet. The price was cheap compared to other hotels. The staff was friendly but non responsive to my complaint about the a/c not working in my room. The bath tub was badly stained and the bath tub curtain had a lot of mildew. The sheets on the bed were so thin that I could see the mattress through the sheets.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating - and a great breakfast.
It has seen its better days - A little bit of a walk from attractions.

If you are looking for a hotel to stay in during your visit, I highly recommend the California. It's not the Ritz, but it's not the pits, either. The rooms are not fancy - but who goes to Rio for the hotel room? I enjoyed my entire stay, although the phone calls were pretty pricey.
