Victorian decor in lobby.
Shower didn't work and room on noisy street.
Lobby is nice and nice location. I was disappointed in the room. Poor value for the money spent.

Historic looking building, great location.
Air conditioner in room was a little loud.
Great old hotel. Large rooms, underground parking, and awesome staff. In our 3-week trip of Italy, France, and England, this was our favorite hotel. Most of the hotels we stayed in were also 4*'s.

It was gorgeous, historic with great ambiance.
Noisy. We had a disco band below us until after midnight. Walls thin.
This hotel dazzled us at first. Although, finding it was a real challenge and we got lost. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Three out of 4 sides face noisy streets and we got a quiet side. Until the disco band started up just below us in a banquet room. It took calling several times to get the band to stop after midnight. Then, some attendees must have been staying there because doors slammed on our hall for an hour. At 6 am the door slamming started up again. It really is a shame because the hotel is so beautiful and has wonderful architecture. read more

The hotel was an absolute palace and truly luxurious and grand.
Couldn't figure out one of the bathroom lights.
The location was ideal, near the harbor and shopping yet within walking distance from the train station at Temple Meads. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous yet the staff still down-to-earth, friendly and helpful.

Must park at hotel, no street parking
18th century building, large but slightly dated rooms, helpful staff, but we would rather stay at the modern marriott nearby.
