Extremely convenient to train to city and other restaurants.
I
liked it all, very much all of us in the party.
It is a very nice well maintained up to date location. Very nice amenities. Cute little store with convenience and food items. I liked it a lot.

I liked the convenience of the kitchenette and the bed was comfy.
Location. My room faced the train tracks. Noisy through a closed window.
The Candlewood was pretty good for what I needed. No facilities to speak of and the fitness equipment is old and cheap. Cool kitchenette, perfect for the thrifty traveler. Well stocked with everything you'd need and very clean. The room doesn't ventilate very well so be sure to turn on the fan when you cook.

Proximity to Santa Clara University.
Great location if you are visiting Santa Clara University. More of a business type hotel, so no amenities like breakfast or pool. Premises and room were very clean. Staff was helpful and efficient.

Location.
The pillows smelled like mildew.
It was OK, but that's it. I'd say it's a one-star motel at best. The halls smelled from cooking food, the pillows smelled like mildew, the TV didn't work when I came into the room and when I called downstairs about it the desk clerk told me to reconnect the cable to the DVD player. So I had to pull out the very heavy TV and figure out what the problem was. Finally, when I told the clerk the some kind of whining noise was coming from the vent in the bathroom, she told me she could have maintenance look at it "tomorrow." That was no help in terms of sleeping in a quiet room tonight since I would be gone tomorrow. read more

They have an "honor system" good if you don't have cash on hand.
Smoking rooms, bed not big enough and bad location.
The lady checking me in was rude and gave me a smelly smoking rude telling me that's all they have. Twenty minutes later while I was trying to connect to the internet, I called the front desk and guy answered I asked him to change me rooms and he gladly did. Overall not happy with this hotel and would not stay here again.

It has kitchenette where we can heat our left over food.
Its very dirty, smells like Indian food. We had to request another room.
I will not recommend this hotel to anybody. Its old and very dirty. We had to request for another room because upon check-in, there was strong smell of Indian food. Under our beds, there were lots of crumbs, carpet was very dirty. This hotel needs to do a lot of updating.

Very comfortable beds.
Very close to train station.
I have stayed at this hotel once before and the trains pulling in and out at night was a little loud. This time I was a bit more at ease with the sound and the hotel manager tried to get me a room on the other side of the hotel that does not face the train tracks. My daughter loves staying here! They have a food pantry where you can buy items on the honor system and you can check out movies to watch (my daughters favorite part)! read more
