Noisy.

The hotel was beautiful, but catered to a large, young sports group. It seemed difficult for them to keep control of the running and yelling of this group. Since the doors had a space between the door and the floor, the noise was easily transmitted into the room.

Free internet, close parking, and nice pool area.
Small TVs, no fridge or microwave (available at extra charge).

Rooms need to be updated, still fairly nice, mostly the non upholstered, non bed furniture.

Old rundown rooms very basic.

I stayed at The Capital Plaza for one night while traveling through Kansas from Missouri. On the plus side, the parking was abundant and easy, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff was friendly, and the lounge area was comfortable. I would not rate the room/stay as a three star, the rooms, lobby are very outdated and basic - I would easily rate the hotel as a 2 star. Quite a bit of hallway traffic noise given the circular pattern of the hallways, and the sound from the center lounge area drifts up to all floors. Good place to stay for a low price, but not at a 3-star price. read more

The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The drain in the shower seemed to be clogged.

The hotel is very impressive when you walk into the lobby. Although it seems to be an older hotel, it is very well maintained. The room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable compared with other hotels I've stayed at. I requested a refrigerator and there was no problem receiving one. Overall I was quite pleased with the hotel and the service I received.
