Set on "370 acres of lovely grounds", minutes from Princeton, this "unique" resort woos conferences and retreats for "very restful" stays; accommodations are in rooms in the main building or in bed-and-breakfast–style units in the separate historic Laurie House, and loyalists like the "welcoming feeling" in the "lounge area" with fireplace, the rooms featuring "large beds" and "puffy pillows, "spacious desks for work" and baths with "lots of towels", and the "excellent" "customer service"; still, some maintenance issues, so-so food and an "out-of-the-way" location take it down a few notches.

Loved the design.
It is not at address provided, had no lighted sign was down a mile long dark road.

Absolutely great hotel but extremely difficult to find.

The gym was better than most.
Upon check in, the front desk clerk was disagreeable.

The hotel feels a bit campy. Bathrooms look like those in a hospital. Cable TV was extremely limited.

Setting, restaurant.
Pub was very slow and waiter was overwhelmed.

Excellent overall, beautiful setting for walking and jogging trails. Fixed dinner menu a little expensive and pub is ok. Breakfast on patio was very relaxing. Liked free wireless availability. A little touch to find. Need better street signs.

It's the most inconvenient location on earth!

The hotel is very nice. It is good for an offsite workshop. But it is incredibly inconvenient for anything else, especially a one-day stay. It is in a secluded spot. And easily adds 20 mins to travel time each way. Cabs don't even know how to get there!

Free breakfast. Friendly staff.
Room needed updating. Had bug bites that may have come from bed.

Needs updating, out of the way location, friendly staff.

Nice lounge, personal.
Overall room quality was poor.

I stayed at this hotel July 2008 with my wife for a business trip. The closet area had what appeared to be pen marks and scuffs all over it as well - not important but doesn't give a clean appearance. The room carpet looked worn as well. The room also had moths in it. I suspect the moths came in from the outside as there was a door that leads to a small deck, though we never opened it. I was too exhausted to request a new room, but I did have to call down because the air conditioner appeared to not be working. The room was 81 Degrees upon first entering it - not a good first impression. The person who came up to help was very nice and mentioned that the unit takes time to kick on. The room cooled down fine once the air conditioner was working. The facility itself was very clean overall and looked maintained. The people who worked at the front desk were very pleasant as well. read more

Clean, comfortable, convenient, affordable.
Bathroom needs a bit updating, more cleaning before a new customer comes into it, esp. around the toilet.

I'd stay again, it is a wonderful spot, quiet, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, great work-out room and outdoor heated pool, tennis, walking, hiking trails, food, pretty good, a bit pricey for the dinner buffet but okay. Full breakfast and room was very nice as well.
