It had everything that the other hotels in the area had (heated swimming pool, etc).
It was a little far from downtown Mackinaw City but I was able to walk it with no problem.

No elevator.
We got off to a bad start - got there early and there was no room ready that's OK. They spent much time on walkie talkie trying to determine which rooms are ready. Sent us to a room that they were still cleaning so we went to dinner. Got back room still being cleaned - by this time we are not early at all. No elevators had to haul 2.50 lbs bags up two flights. The breakfast room is also on 2nd floor and saw tour bus of seniors struggling to climb the 2 flights to get their breakfast. read more

It was close to the lake and the ferry to Mac Island.
We did not really like the breakfast room or the food.

The hotel was clean, close to shopping and dining. Herbal essence shampoo & conditioner.
The pool wasn't as heated as we'd have liked & no changing room.
All areas are disconnected. Enter room directly from outside. Bed is really comfortable. Television gets many channels. Beach is nice. Breakfast is good, the fruit is nasty. Scrambled eggs and waffle iron waffles are what we liked the best.

Location, cleanliness.
It doubles in price from Saturday to Sunday night before labor day.
This is a very unfair survey since I stayed at two different hotels during my stay. The clarion was outstanding in every way except price gouging before labor day but thats understandable. The Pellston Lodge was as worthless as I've ever seen! Now It was new and clean, but if you need to sleep- forget this place!

Spacious rooms, convenient location.
Not the best value.
The pool is big and open until midnight, which is convenient. The breakfast is not bad but the selection is not very fresh.

The room was very clean and stylish, with updated decor inside of rooms, and nice large bathroom.
Second bed was fold down from wall.
This was a nice hotel, that looked nice both inside and out. The room was a bit on the small side, especially when we folded down the bed, but second and third floor rooms looked bigger. The furniture was classy, not like the beat up characterless stuff so typical at standard hotels. The bathroom was larger, with a luxurious shower! Lots of hot water, immediately on demand (my wife especially liked the shower head). The breakfast room was on the second floor, so any handicap guests would want to investigate elevator locations prior to stay. But the breakfast was great, fresh waffles, and cereal, or oatmeal, eggs, sausage and bagels. Whatever someone might want. We enjoyed our stay and would return. read more
