Location to downtown.
Hotel was outdated and not clean.
This hotel was a 3 star hotel in downtown Columbia and was not even close. It was more like a 1.5 to 2 Start hotel. Very outdated and not clean.

I liked that it was located across from University of South Carolina.
Did not like hearing everyone get off the elevator..some were very loud.
It was nice it was clean I will probably stay there again because of the location.

The staff was helpful .
It did not have a gift store, and
didn't have a comb or brush.
Everyone was very nice, and it was clean. The furniture was worn and lamps were missing light bulbs.

I enjoyed the outside, appearance and business center expect printer out of toner.
Thought front desk clerk was rude! Hotel rooms didn't smell fresh and TV was old and pic fuzzy!
Overall I was very unhappy with this hotel. It was Valentines Day weekend and I understand that it was busy however that should be when the service should be that much better! When calling front desk they were not helpful or friendly, I was on business and not familiar with the area. Wanted to stay in and watch TV and relax and the TV was fuzzy, when called front desk clerk stated not hotel's problem and that it was cable that is understandable but the manner it was said. I was looking for better customer service from the hotel, not the normal for them. read more

Well-kept.
Clarion hotel chains typically are pretty solid in terms of quality. Unfortunately, I would guess this one was refurbished from an older building or had been around a while. I am used to receiving more options in a Holiday Inn Express (which is star ranked lower). The high speed internet did not work. The warm water gets used up easily in the morning hours (my first day, it was not warm at all). Lastly, if you hope for a pay channel to be offered (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, etc.) forget it, only straight, local cable with the typical minimum package. But, the price was less than anticipated and the rooms are well-kept. Still, a Holiday Inn Express or even a Days Inn can be out this hotel in my opinion. read more

Restaurant food was adequate and well presented.
Would have been nice to have the breakfast included in the fare.
Good location, decent price, costly breakfast.

This hotel should really be called a motel. A good portion of the rooms are in a motel style annex building. The room smelled strongly of watermelon candy. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The shower never stayed the same temperature fluctuating between extreme cold and extreme hot. The walls were thin. Overall it was awful.
