Close to highway, reasonable price.
No one at the desk when we needed to check in (had to call to get someone); loud (attached to bar; rooms face atrium, loud group of people until 4 am) .
Booked this hotel because it is pet-friendly and cost was reasonable. Room was fine, clean. We got there late, and there was no one at the front desk for us to check in for 15 minutes. I had to call the hotel number to get someone there. Rooms either exterior or face in to the atrium with pool etc. Hotel is attached to a large bar. We had an atrium room by the pool, and did not get any sleep because of a loud group from the bar until 4:00 am. Would not stay there again, but for those that do ask for a room away from the pool/atrium. read more

Price.
Staff over worked; registration desk.
Just another holiday inn "used to be". Good for the price.

Thought the value was good for the money, national chain.
No room service the entire stay, no linens, no bed changed or made.
Had problems with the nonexistent housekeeping at this hotel. I called the front desk and the user friendly clerk stated "what do you want me to do about it?" On checkout I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one on duty. Bad experience, will not return and will tell others to avoid this facility.

It was at least convenient and easy to find.

This holiday Inn was simply a Ramada Inn with new signs. It was a motel, we entered our rooms from the outside. Old furnishings, outdated bathroom, hard bed and we even saw the old Ramada signs next to the dumpster.

Nice lobby.
The lobby and food area in the hotel was nice. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the tub area was cracked. It was very dated in feeling.

Convenient location right off I-40. Nice facilities located right in hotel. Free coffee in lobby. Wireless internet.
Coffee maker inside room was not clean. Fitness room smelled of sweat.
Convenient location and facilities that include a pool and restaurant onsite, as well as wireless internet access. Fitness room is just a couple of treadmills and sterilizers, with one pull-up and dip combo machine. However, the room stank of sweat, and there were no operable windows to air the room out.

Good food and great prices in the restaurant
Not what I would rate as a 3 star hotel as far as the room goes

The hotel was very well maintained for an older establishment. It had a nice pool area and the rooms were spacious.
The entrance to the parking lot was near a traffic signal and at times turning left on leaving could be a problem.
The Holiday Inn Cookeville is an excellent value considering what I paid for the night there. It is well maintained and very clean. The pool area is large and tastefully decorated, a restaurant overlooks the pool area and offers a nice variety of menu items at a decent price. My daughter is going to be attending school in Cookeville and we will make the Holiday Inn our regular choice when we visit. read more

Hotel did not meet our expectations. We have stayed in Hotel before and had good experiences. But this time the room was awful. Poor service, poor quality room. Common area, Lobby were in good stead but the rooms need renovating.
