Location, facilities, and access to public transportation.
Room layout was small and the air system wasn't working very well.
The Marriott near Boyleston/Commons is a wonderful hotel and an affordable place for the value it provides. There is free internet, a reasonably sized exercise facility and it is conveniently located to pretty much all of Boston. I was on business, and found this hotel exceeded my expectations for the price I paid. I would certainly stay there again.

Desk clerk was able to provide me with a pocket comb when I discovered I needed one. Staff directions -very helpful. Good car valet srvcs.
The lobby looked dark and drab. Maybe add flowers in vases.
Expected hotel to be near Copley since that is how it was billed. It was not close to Copley, but in the there district which was a good distance - even with car transportation. We had to retrieve our car after parking in the garage of the wrong hotel - another Courtyard by Marriott. Very confusing for out of towners. The ads need to be more specific about location when several hotels are in such close proximity. read more

Front desk was very helpful and pleasant to speak with.
Room was small.
The hotel was clean, with well appointed rooms and public areas. The location is convenient with only a short walk to two different T stations and Boston Commons is a short walk away. Excellent value for location and amenities.

Blocks from Boston downtown attractions and a T station, free internet in room.
Noisy. Can hear TV in the next room even on low volume because it is mounted on the wall. No bath tub.
Good for budget travelers who aren't bothered by noise.
