the room we stayed in could use a bit of renovating; the fridge and carpet, for example, seemed a bit worn

Breakfast was expensive.

The hotel is in a prime Christchurch location with easy walking to all the central tourist areas of the city. The staff is excellent and cheery and rooms were nicely appointed and quiet during our stay.
