Though not a 4-star hotel, it is definitely 3.5 at least. The location is amazingly convenient; the room size is adequate; the amenities in both room and hotel are mostly good.

The location is right next to Albert Docks and the developments on the Mersey.
Weird hot/cold tub. Not terribly relaxing.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great spot right at the waterfront next door to the Three Graces (wikipedia them). From here you'll have no trouble enjoying the waterfront developments, the fun and artsy Albert Docks, the Mersey river, the great Downtown shopping and the many local pubs. We didn't know what to expect in Liverpool, but this hotel made our trip a success.
