Good location.
Small room, broken toilet, ugly.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff was rude, our toilet was broken and it felt like we staying at a dive in the middle of nowhere.

We booked a double room and all the double rooms are in front (literally) of the elevators. The design of the hotel itself is pretty bad considered the fact that there are rooms right in front of the elevators. I am a frequent traveler and I've never seen something like this before. There were a bunch of teenagers screaming and later on arguing at 3am. None of us could sleep at all even with ear plugs. Called and complained at 3am, the noise stopped for 10 mins and came back, called again, no one answered. read more

Clean and bright after a long 9 hour drive to get there.
Room was a little warm and unable to turn down the heat, however was able to open the window which helped.

Great hotel - will definitely stay there again should I travel to Ottawa again.

Location to where we needed to go was decent.
Had to leave our room unlocked.

Door key mechanism was broke, said they would have someone fix it and assured us our belongings were fine left in the room. Came back at 1 am to find that card key didn't work, but that didn't matter because the door could just be pushed open, and lock didn't work. Had to use chain lock on door. Then by about 8:15am next morning maid staff was already trying to come in the room and knocking (during the door fiasco, hadn't thought to put out the do not disturb hanger the night before). read more

Cleanliness, size of room, size of bed, and the attitude of staff.

The hotel promised us a king sized bed on the phone the day before we left. There was not even a queen! The room was dirty, paint peeling, tiny, poor view and was not even remotely representative of a 3.5 star hotel.

Unclean, loud, and uncomfortable.

The hotel was dirty and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Convenient location, friendly staff.
Paint chipping in our room's closet and door, desk looked banged.

I really liked the room. This easily could have been a 4-star hotel by paying attention to the small details. Paint chipping inside the closet, and the desk had a corner that was banged up. Nevertheless, the room was spacious, quiet, the shower was great and the beds were really comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and for business travel.

No hot tub in pool area.

Friendly staff. Bed was large and comfortable with a lot of nice pillows. Full-sized pool available, but there's no hot tub. Full exercise facility is appreciated. Internet is pay per use. If you have an internet stick or iPhone tethering, it is a good alternative over in-house internet.

The hotel was centrally located. Very attractive. Great pool and fitness area.
There were a few little problems with the room.

We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza very much. It was a very nice-looking hotel and very well located in Ottawa. We loved the pool and fitness area. One of the biggest pools I have experienced in a hotel. Our only complaint would have been that the lamps weren't working in the room and outlets were hard to find for them. Room was a little small, but not a big deal for us. Great overall experience. read more
