Surrounded by "beautiful grounds", this "nautical-themed" beachfront resort in Shipyard Plantation is "tastefully decorated" with a "lovely outside pool area", "updated furnishings" and a main hall with "mahogany walls"; rooms are "large", with "so-nice" linens, but some just have views of "rooftops and noisy, unattractive a/c units" and that "surprise" $10 daily resort fee that covers parking, coffee and use of the pools strikes penny-pinchers as a charge for "things that most hotels offer" free.

The landscaping on the grounds are great.
Having to pay a 13.00 per day resort fee for nothing and not having WiFi in the room.

The hotel is nice. It is time for them to update it with flat screen TV and WIFI.

Customer service attitude of staff from valet, front desk and through room attendant.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza in Hilton Head. The facility has been there for some time, but has been kept current with remodeling/renovation and upgrades.

Great beds.
The 10 dollar resort fee.

Excellent hotel with great beds. It has a fitness center with good equipment and a small indoor pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a really nice waitress in the hotel restaurant. The furnishings were updated and it also had a business center with internet and printer access.

The beach, the location.
Too noisy, charged an extra as a Resort fee.

The hotel is indeed beautiful, but it was so noisy with people leaving the bar at 11:30 PM that I had to call security after noise continued about 30 minutes. Then there was the issue of 10 extra dollars for Resort fee. Oh almost forgot. At first they put us into a smoking room. Said the reservation had been made for a smoking room. I know that your policy is not to secure non smoking or smoking. They usually ask us when we check in. read more
