The overwhelmed desk staff was friendly.
Everything bad. smoking rooms, musty, expensive, and was crowded.

A strange layout coupled with rooms in desperate need of renovation makes this a hotel to avoid at all costs. Non-smoking labeled rooms are obviously current smoking rooms. room numbers are non-sequential, parking is tight and this is not a short jaunt to campus. Overpriced and understaffed.

Proximity to the event I attended.
Dirty, filthy, disgusting, unsanitary, overpriced, broken and/or incomplete fixtures in the room.

I will never, ever stay in this hotel again as long as I live. This hotel was barely habitable. The bathtub was rotted from the bottom up, the light cover in the bathroom was broken but it appeared that someone entered the room while we were gone and put it back up. There were insects or insect parts everywhere in the room. The TV remote was missing, and the buttons were broken on the TV, there was a coffeemaker in the room, but the brew-basket was missing, and it appeared to be damaged anyway. The pillow cases were dirty, there were no towels in the room, and when we asked for some at the desk, they said they were out of them. There was a random piece of metal with screws sticking out of it sitting on the table in the room, and the curtains were half missing. The manager and a front desk employee were arguing when I arrived to check in, and continued to do so for about 30 seconds while I stood there waiting. There was construction going on at the hotel. Almost every room looked like bomb had gone off. My friend's room was several doors down from mine and we both woke before 8 am to sound of drilling, hammering, etc. And we both got locked into our respective bathrooms because the doors were stuck. It was the worst hotel experience I've ever had!

Close to UVA Medical Center.
To much of a hang out, and rundown rooms.

Great location to UVA. Had to have a room on short notice cause my son had emergency knee surgery. The room was ok. Semi-clean. To much of a hangout around the pool. People drinking. Tub was dirty, cob webs and spiders in corners. Great air conditioning. Would not stay here again. Great staff.
